Lions International/Mesa Thunderbird Lions

The International Association of Lions Clubs was formed in 1917 by Melvin Jones, in Chicago, Illinois. Each member of Lions shares a common interest of dedicated service in helping others. Our Lions International motto is "We Serve," with speicial emphasis placed on the blind, the visually handicapped and Diabetes.

Since Helen Keller's challenge to the Lions International in 1925 to become "Knights of the Blind," Lions' work in sight conservation has been lauded throughout the world. Equally well known is their outstanding activity in hearing conservation.

We, the Thunderbird Lions Club of Mesa, Arizona dedicate our services to the physically and mentally handicapped, the sick, aged and the needy. Our concern for environmental, social and recreational services all illustrate that as Lions, we are "doers" who respond wholeheartedly to the human need.

Our Club's motto, "We Make Peoples Lives Better" is a testimonal to our commitment to help those in need in our community.
